Had a delightful three nights at Aloft Bali Seminyak. Booked the base room but was upgraded to a Pool Access King for the entire stay. Much appreciated, upgrades not being brand standard at Aloft hotels. Small room, but, as stated in OP’s review, designed in a way that makes 28sqm feel more spacious than cramped. The first floor pool is the dopest feature of this hotel, so much so, I can’t imagine a stay here without it. Lots of Marriotts in Bali, from low (4pbS Kuta, Fairfield Legian) to high (Laguna) feature this “dive-right-in” from your room’s terrace concept, but this pool — accessible only to eight “lofts” on the ground floor — feels more private than all of those.

The pool is also shielded from the harshest of the sunlight, unlike the main pool on the roof. However, over our stay dates, sunlight was a rare feature after noon.

Berawa Beach --- which is more southern Canggu than Seminyak -- is a three minute walk. The beach itself is not about to win any awards, but fine for a morning stroll.

Breakfast at Kahuna restaurant is good. I agree with skier464 and, again, with suitesmile (who posted over two years ago, so it’s nice to see quality's been maintained) that it's a better breakfast than what some significantly more expensive properties in Bali offer. Great coffee, made-to-order waffles/pancakes/crepes, eggs benny (no Eggs royale, like Aloft Bangkok, but still delicious, with loads of Hollandaise), quite good Indonesian food -- a bit on the mild side for our tastes, but easily-fixed by adding one of the several sambals on offer. We didn’t get bored of having the same breakfast three days in a row.

Staff was wonderful: accommodating to our requests and the overall standard of service felt top level, rather than whatever “select" means. Lots of games, both physical and video, on offer in the lobby/common area and the daily rotating promos (Wine Wednesdays, 50% food on Thursdays when they have live music) in addition to the daily 1-9pm happy hour. In addition to the Welcome Amenity (we chose breakfast), we were also given two welcome drink vouchers, adult beverages included, which no other Aloft in Indonesia does.

Overall, extremely happy with the value we got here and while Aloft as a brand is, understandably, not for everyone, this little hotel punches above its weight. While I’m becoming less and less enamored with South Central Bali in general, I’d definitely return to Aloft Seminyak.
