Indirectly related to my bid upgrade, but a few hours before departure there was an aircraft swap from A343 to A330. My upgrade was unaffected as the J cabin went from 30J to 42J. But the Y cabin decreased in capacity. That meant a lot of seat changes and op-ups. I think there were at least 4 passengers that went from Y/PE to J. Of course I would have no way of knowing that in advance.

And separately, at the gate next to mine for FRA-ORD departure, I heard the gate agent solicit Y->PE upgrades for 239 EUR. She mentioned something about how these passengers will also get J cabin bedding and amenity kit if they upgrade on the spot.
