Correct, we have cancelled the return flight after flying the outbound. We came back to the states in Emirates as United was very expensive on short notice(didn't make sense even with the FFC). I tried booking a domestic flight worth $600 round trip & the price changed to $6000 when I go through FFC.

I read on the thread that booking a fully refundable ticket & cancelling will give me the extra money spent back to the CC & the FFC will have an extended deadline. Can you please confirm if this is a solution? Or is there anything else I can try. We have about $2500 in FCC which will go to waste if not extended.
