I feel that the "Ultimate Reservation Guarantee" is one of the things that Marriott Bonvoy is probably the worst at delivering on. I am not sure why they even publish it if the individual hotels seem to not bother in respecting it. Did not receive the guarantee room type at the FPbS-DTW Airport last week and after inquiring about the URG to a check-in clerk (we don't guarantee room types), check-out clerk (I don't think that is a Four Points thing, that is a Marriott thing), and 5 attempts at utilizing various Marriott Bonvoy contacts to rectifiy this situation, my situation is still unresolved. I likely won't pursue it much further as it is only $50, but the principle of the matter does make a difference to me and if you are going to publish a benefit that it should be delivered. Normally in this case the Titanium line is good about accommodating to a different hotel if available at same rate, but at 1AM, I was mostly interested in getting to bed.
