My daughter's renewal card took months to arrive. Mine took about 2 weeks. I submitted both applications at the same time. Neither of us needed an interview. My kid will be 24 when she renews with a picture of a 14 year old on the car.

Then again, she'll be 30 when her driver's license renews again and in her picture there she was 15.
