I recommend just using a taxi from the terminal to the hotel. There is an easy to use taxi line right out the exit with taxis waiting for you.
From the hotel to the terminal, I'd use an uber if its in the cheaper range.
You can decide what you would like to do and what reactions you're hoping to elicit, but you won't have a very pleasant taxi ride if you use the taxi line at Heathrow to book a cab to one of the airport hotels a mile away.
