I always fly direct unless there isn’t the option to, or if the only airline flying direct is not great. My main goal is to get to my destination, the flight experience is secondary. As long as it’s lie flat J with a reputable airline, I’m good. I do try to do One World when I can, but if Singapore Air is much cheaper, then that’s what I fly. Also I would rather take the extra time/PTO day on the back need recovering from the long journey at home, rather than at an airport lounge.

Too many flight delays/cancellations these days, in my last 3 trips, 2 have had some kind of flight issues. I don’t need to deal with missed connections and extra unintended PTO days if it’s not necessary.
