You are correct, I mistakenly thought that was LH operated but it looks like it is a United leg. I think the experience of flying on a 747 upper deck would be pretty cool so if all else is equal and they are pretty close in quality, I would keep the 747. I just don't want to pay all this to have a poor experience when I could get a better one for the same cost.
I love the 747 and fly it whenever I can.
That said: the hard product (seat) in Business class on the United plane is definitely better. It's all aisle access (for every seat) and provides a good amount of privacy. On the LH 747 you will have a neighbor and not much privacy. I fine the 747 product to be fine, but if the seat product is most important to you, the United option is better.
(You will find a mixed set of reviews of food quality and service levels for both LH and UA in the forums here, I don't really have a preference between the two on those).
