For reasons, my partner and I have different reservations for the same flights later this summer. I’m platinum, he’s a general FB member. I called PSL to link our reservations, thinking that this way he could select seats next to me for free (we’re traveling in Y) — we’ve done that with United, where he has higher status than me. But apparently that’s not a thing with FB? The rep said even if we link our reservations, we won’t be able to get free preferred seating for him, which is otherwise quite pricey.

I’m wondering if there’s anything that can be done here? Anything that would help us transfer my benefits onto him? We’re effectively travel companions even though there are two separate tickets.
