As someone who has been a loyal client flying with EVA AIR for 30+ years, I do have to agree that the level of amenity quality and comfort has gone down quite a lot. I think the service from the crew is still very nice.
As I've said in the other threads, I also agree that they need to retrofit their business class seats on their 77W planes sooner rather than later. My main complaint for the EVA AIR business class reversed herringbone seats is that the width feels a bit narrow (I have grown quite some muscles ever since the pandemic started. My shoulder and chest have gotten wider than before), and the seats don't feel as private as the reverse herringbone seats in the other airlines. I also don't think they have refitted the Royal Laurel Class seats on their super old 77M planes for at least like 10+ years.
As for the food, I personally feel like the catering in their outstations (especially in the US) has been one of EVA's weak points. The Book the Cook menu from SFO has not changed since, I don't know, like at least 7 years? And I think they just cycle through their inflight menus like every 5 quarters.
I do miss the Rimowa kits that they distributed. I'm still using the light blue color of the Rimowa kit when I fly internationally, even with other airlines. Just to remember how good the amenities were back then with the generous EVA
