GIven that this is international, how does this work? Still get picked up planeside? Do I need to wait for everyone to get off before (given thet I can use my cane to get down the aisle to the door.) Wheeled to pick up bag (I have a companion who can help) and through customs, etc?...
International is not really any different than domestic
You need to info the ticketing carrier of the desire for wheel chair assist. You should be specific if on-plane assistance is needed or if delivery and pickup on the jetway is sufficient.
They will take you thru security and customs / immigration.
Electric carts are used for longer distances at some airport.
Delivery to and pickup from lounges is possible
Always call the operating carrier and confirm wheelchair assist the day before.
