I have a trip IAH-SFO-KIX and return NRT-IAH on cash ticket. I used miles + copay to waitlist the IAH-SFO-KIX portion. When I went back in to look at cash upgrade on the NRT-IAH portion, it say not available. I take it that using miles/copay on any portion of itinerary no longer allows cash upgrade option on other portions?
