There's a lot of collective capacity into a city with a population of only 1.5 million people & a very seasonal traffic flow from the northern hemisphere. I wouldn't read too much into this.
Just strange that they would tell everyone to apply for other airlines. Curious if at company maybe someone misunderstood pulling service (I think was supposed to be year round) with service totally being pulled for good.
