I'm personally kind of insulted that the largest airport through which AA funnels transatlantic traffic, the airline can't be bothered to make a significant effort to place a premium lounge into the airport. UA has polaris lounges at EWR, IAD, IAH, LAX, ORD, and SFO - basically all of its major gateways.
I used to be insulted but maybe I’ve mellowed with age.
AA would
prefer to route everything through CLT, IMO, because of lower operating costs. But CLT doesn’t have the capacity for more int’l flying. It doesn’t have the gates.
