I think you're focused on the micro-economics of virtual stays from the individual property's perspective and missing the bigger picture concern about allowing unlimited stay credit without a physical stay. If Hyatt were to allow this, it would basically be allowing individual properties to sell Globalist over the internet on whatever terms the properties wish ("60 nights for $1000 - book now!").
