Anybody believing this reason is kidding themselves. 30-50ish floors the view is breath-taking (the 50F high rise next to Taipei Main Station has best view, they should reopen it and market as such). Taipei 101 is "ant-like" for sure, but not 50s. 16 may be 20, but the angle of sight is still not slope enough for a breath-taking view experience. This is why people usually preferred the highest vintage point. We don't look out the window to see what's on other building's roof, but for a breath-taking experience. The real reason I suspect is the investors for Park Hyatt got out maneuvered and ended up on the lower floors than the investors for Andaz. Lobby and elevator reasons are laughable as well. Plenty of hotels with lobby on first floor and express elevator up to 30-50 floor. If they want to avoid two hotels sharing the same space they can easily send Andaz up to 2nd floor (or higher). All in all, I don't believe in the posted reason one bit.
