Case in point- Going to Athens in a few weeks. Many months prior I was tracking prices in google flights. Phl coach was nearly 3k RT vs closer to 1k exJFK. Business was over 10k! It never went lower and eventually sold out in J and W well over a month in advance on a 788. I ended up buying PE exJFK for 2k (PHL was 6k). Then I upfared to business (Discount I bucket opened) for $3500.

don’t get me started on Phl-LHR pricing vs jfk or even Ewr on BA. I look forward to another visit to the soho lounge and, if there’s time, another stop at the TWA hotel.
Ditto here. Main home outside PHL but when we fly TATL (mainly Italy) it's JFK-MXP. First, non-stop - second, fares. One trick though, as we have a home in Italy and we go back-and-forth, we buy outbound from EU and return from US (flipping the RT). Prices substantially better - for example in Sept we're doing ex-CDG-PHL and return in December JFK-MXP for ~$1100 PE. Right now my June return (JFK-LHR- couple of days - LIN) is the back half of LIN-LHR-JFK in January.

On original topic, would be nice for a lounge in PHL as the Amex Centurion is generally slammed and has a back up. But if it wasn't the AA Flagship would be a yawn unless AA ever got reasonable TATL fares ex-PHL.
