. Does that not destroy rhe whole purpose of gaining quick access to the aircraft ?

I have often see how U2 manage to get all there wheel chairs ect to the gate well before the gate is announced - why can t BA text “ 0 “ and “1” groups five minuites before flight appears on the board
Before Gp0, as a Gp1/ Row 1, it was a long and error-prone process to ensure as far as possible we got on board early enough on short-haul to sort our baggage (nothing out of line - one carry-on each and one 2nd bag each). The recent BA wayfinder improved things with early indications of the gate - before that it was an indication from lounge agents. Primarily, it was by tracking the inbound aircraft scheduled for our flight all the way to the gate, using FR24, and heading for that gate as soon as reasonably sure in order to hover by the priority marker post. Then a long wait in the queue for the queue... for the queue!

I think your suggestion is an interesting one - but would have to be convinced that BA could manage timely text alerts - and would depend on when the aircraft/ cabin crew could accept pax.
