LHR-LAX C gates there wasn’t a person regularly at the tensa barriers pre boarding so for a discreet question would need to go and lean across to the desks. I tested waiting for boarding to start. Big throng around the gate as usual. When boarding did commence a very quiet verbal “any Group 0?” and waiting maybe 15s. I was near gate so could hear but felt i needed to rush a bit before Group 1 gets called and I had to “excuse me” a lot to get to the front of queue. If you weren’t by the gate entrance you wouldn’t hear the boarding call at all. Maybe 2-3 Group 0. Let through side lane to the “top of stairs” standing area while Group 1 held down Priority Lane. No announcement or indication that could actually board until seeing Group 1 let through and walking down the stairs so followed suit down the escalators.

As we all know, but the sense is the boarding is always a bit chaotic and not coordinated properly with SSSS, kids, assistance, Group 0 then Group 1 etc. It shouldn’t be complicated. Just follow a set timing and good communication.
