1) Many years, in the Palermo Soho neighborhood of
Buenos Aires, I had the best steak filet ever, for the equivalent of $8. Can't remember the name of the restaurant though.
2) More recently, I was staying at
Park Hyatt Milan. I had dinner 1 evening at their all-day restaurant "La Cupola" and ordered their
'Tournedos Rossini'.
That was a fantastic course.
[beef filet, pan-fried in butter, served on a crouton, and topped with a hot slice of fresh whole foie gras briefly pan-fried at the last minute. The dish is garnished with slices of black truffle and finished with a Madeira demi-glace sauce.]
