Or they're a big enough customer to get pretty decent access, but not necessarily the front-of-the-line Emirates gets for buying widebodies fifty at a time.

PS: Boeing is only producing about five 787's per month right now (but want to try to ramp up to IIRC 12 or 14, though that will likely take a few years. They do have about 150 finished 787's that have not been delivered because they are being re-worked due to quality issues. Those will fill some of the production gap.
