That's where the error is.
There are two ways to gain status: 1. through elite nights 2. be given the status through a credit card, status match, lifetime benefit, etc. FYI, lifetime Silver/Gold/Plat/Ti members all start with 0 nights per year, and do not get a head start on the next level of status.
You will not get the nights you are expecting.
You're literally arguing with people that have decades more experience with Marriott than you do.
