Being a cardholder however, gives you a credit of 15 nights and thus to get to gold, you only need to stay 10 more nights (25-15 =10).

When the changes are enacted in July: cardholders will be given silver status and in addition 5 elite nights. If a cardholder desires to get to cold they only need to stay 10 more nights
Number of nights required for gold = 25
Silver status granted/equivalent nights = 10
Additional nights granted 5

So total number of nights a cardholder would need to stay to reach gold with the program change in July will still be 10 nights (25-10-5). Exactly as it currently is.
SIGH. You still dont understand, amazingly.

For a business person, and after so many posters explained to you either in brief or in details, you still think having a SILVER status means you have 10 EQNs in your account.

While 10 EQNs earn you Silver, having Silver from CC does NOT mean you have 10 EQNs in your account. Period.

You continue failing to understand this fundamental part of how EQN works.

One more time - Status does NOT equate to EQN. While you need EQN to earn status or having a CC granted status, having a status from CC does NOT mean you have the same number of EQNs needed to earn that status.

The perfect example is the AMEX Brilliant which for $650 gives you Plat status AND 25 EQNs but it does not mean you have 50 EQNs from the Plat status AND 25 EQNs from the card - that would make you an instant Titanium based on your argument. Of course this is NOT how things work. That is the SAME principle as the Bold card giving SILVER and 5 EQNs.

And you keep gravitating on this WRONG assumption. It is truly astonishing,,, from a business person no less.

After MULTIPLE posters pointing out to you, Status does NOT equate to EQN, but your argument remains the same. I guess all the efforts people made here trying to make you see the difference is like water went over a duck's back, so to speak.

Posts 26, 27, 32, 33, 39, 40, 41 and 47 - ALL tell you the reason WHY your calculation IS WRONG, because having a Status does NOT mean you have the same number of EQNs that required to earn such status.

Yet for whatever reason, you either do not really read those posts or got completely wrapped up in your utterly wrong assumption to think your next year's SILVER from Bold would give you 10 EQNs + the greatly reduced EQNs to only 5 from the Bold, so you would have 15 EQNs in your account, regardless the SILVER status does NOT go reverse direction - meaning 10 EQNs earn SILVER but SILVER itself does NOT earn ANY EQN, let alone 10!

Come January 1 2025 you will have only 5 EQNs from Bold before any earned EQN from stay. Period. But you will have SILVER to make you feel better.
That is why Chase and Bonvoy want to play such marketing game to fool those who are willingly to be fooled, thinking the changes are non-events.
