An 11 night Alaska cruise for your first cruise especially solo, not that I don't love Alaska but that particular itinerary will lean towards a much older crowd and/or families. Consider a cruise line like Virgin Voyages which is adult only and does offer lots of get togethers for singles, without any obligation to attend them if they end up not being your thing.
