Correct.
I don't think the plain Sapphire offers any benefits, compared to some of the Freedom cards and it'll prevent you from reapplying for another Sapphire Preferred/Reserve bonus in 48 months.

I would definitely choose the Freedom Flex or Freedom Unlimited instead.
