In March next year, Flying EZE - JFK on AA 954 (arrives 7:00am) Connecting to AA 6939 (BA178) JFK - LHR (departs 9:05am). All on 1 PNR and all ticketed with AA

I'm guessing that it will all be through T8 and that I'll need to re-check my bags.

Questions.... Is that a busy time of year/day... will I be in a hurry or relaxed? (assuming AA 954 is on time!) Is it a long haul to the lounges? Are there any "short cuts" or interesting routes in the terminal? Any other tips that would make connecting more fun?!
Really nothing to worry about. The only "unknown" is how long it will take your bags to come out.

The process: clear immigration with GE, wait for bags, exit customs hall, drop bags on baggage recheck belt just outside customs hall, take the elevators/escalator upstairs to departure level, clear security, then go to Soho lounge for any time you have left before boarding. Soho is just past security on the right up a level.

At JFK there's no shortcuts or anything else interesting. I suppose you can walk through the Flagship First check-in area just before securty but this isn't really any quicker unless the pre-check lines are long, which they rarely are.
