Is $50 worth it? It depends on what you need the lounge for. Do you want just a quiet place to chill, or are you looking mainly at food and drinks? A food court with many options at good prices will deal with the former, but if you are after some alcoholic drinks then those can be quite expensive at the airport. Then again there is a 7-11 airside and if you decide to enter the country then there is a decent Fairprice store at the basement of T3.
so when I think about it the biggest benefit would be a hot shower and free food. I don't need alcohol. Also I have had some bad experiences in airports without free wifi and without many conveninces.

e.g. last year I flew twice via Middle East - Istanbul - 19hr layover and Doha - 8hr layover. Now both Turkish and Qatar are premium airlines. However both airports have only 1hr free wifi, that too with passport so no privacy. Doha has a sleep area but it was full, none in IST.

I had PriorityPass last year, but they won't let you in if the flight is next day!! so e.g I land at 11am, next flight is 8am, they only let me in at 6am next day - it was horrible.

But Changi has free wifi and hopefully I can find a place to lie down and some cheap food/coffeee, so a lounge is not a must. If I can find one for cheap, I saw some coupons, maybe its worth it, if it has a free shower.
