Cruise vs. All-Inclusive Resort Stay

I haven't been on a vacation in at least 5 years. I have a window between approximately 2 weeks in July to get away on a solo vacation. Now single, I am looking at either going on my first cruise or doing a resort stay (which I have done a handful of times previously in Mexico, Cuba, and Thailand). I definitely want to relax and socialize and have no worries about anything for a few days. I like the beach and pool, and I also enjoy the nightlife.

Can anyone give me some advice? Does anyone have experience with this cruise?

It looks like a really fun cruise. That said, will it be mostly families and couples and retired folks? I am hoping to go somewhere where there will be lots of middle-aged singles like myself! With a resort in a good location, I could always venture into the town (ie) Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Punta Cana etc, if it's a bit too dull on the resort.

Suggestions???
