You would think so... but many places still insist on a server bringing you eg water and cutlery, so that they can ding you for tips even when you're serving yourself the meal!
Sorry I wasn't clear. I meant that if I'd had the buffet, it would have more than consumed the entire F&B credit, so any tip could not have been covered--even if there were two people in the room and only one had the breakfast buffet.
