Maybe it is because I do not hold UA status, but I was in F, asked for the omelette from economy and was denied.

The FA was really nice about, she explained (and I have no idea if what she said was accurate or not) that she did not have a way to comp the omelette and I would either have to pay or eat the meal catered for First Class.

She said that if I was a 1k (she added our most frequent fliers) she could comp it out that way, if not enough meals were catered in First Class, she could comp it out that way, if I had pre-ordered and it was not laded, she could comp it out that way, but just preferring it isn't a method she has to comp it out and without being to comp it out, someone has to pay for it. She said that if I was willing to wait till all of economy was served, she would check if any 1Ks didn't take their free food item, she would use that to comp it out but I would have to wait a while.

I took the bread pudding thing and it was alright, reminded me a bit of a McGriddle.
