if the bags are checked thru, you can check-in for the second flight (and get BP) numerous ways. Get the OZ app, the transit/transfer desk airside , perhaps a OZ GA, lounge, ....

On seperate tickets, from UA, unlikely. But the counter agent for OZ, may be abke to do that
What's Plan B if UA arrives late? UA has no responsibility for the on going flight and Asian carriers have no flat tire practice. I would not do less than 3 hours gap in this circumstance.
