The main thing to realise and allow for is extra time. Everything to do with disability takes more time. If you are one of these people who leave arriving at airport till last minute you will come unstuck with disability assistance. LHR is awful, just come with low expectations and extra time and you will be ok. But don’t be afraid to say something if you are still waiting and time is getting tight.
