We successfully negotiated a room move from the cramped, too much furniture suite we started with on floor 2 - this was not the best given I had emailed ahead 2 weeks before to request a high floor with a view.
Even that wasn’t accommodated when I had a “petit moan” in the lounge but we were given a 3rd floor room with a balcony that is twice the size, although we were made to wait until 4.15pm for this room despite it being allocated to us at 10.15am.
The lounge here gets a big tick for all day alcohol but I’m sorry it is not a patch on Park Lane. No view and the blinds are constantly closed because the AC is rubbish. Patchy service at best. In fact, that is over kind - the guy on both evenings is happy to top up the glasses of his regulars - we were not included in that and left to help ourselves. What a terrible first world problem!
I also dont rate the food in the lounge. Breakfast, Tea and evening canapes are average at best. We are doing a clean eating program and found most of the food ultra processed. Again Park Lane far superior.
Had breakfast in CDLP this morning and that was much better although the Sunday brunch in there was an absolute joke for the price.
Glad we stayed, would not rush back.
Although I came away with a far more favorable impression of the service, I'd have to agree with you on better rotation of food required in the evening. And of course the view goes without saying ..... goes alongside Hong Kong, Danang, Jakarta, Festival City for a world class view. But that's a bit down to limitations of layout and geography I guess. There isn't really anywhere in that footprint that gets a stella view, even if you plonked it on the top.
But yes, the evening rotation .... well there isn;t any rotation that I saw and indeed sandwiches pretty much the same as the afternoon tea.
Breakfast also does not compete with ICPL for range or quality. But the service you surprise me on. I found them to be very much on the money and at least as good .... in recent months, better than ICPL. And I speak as a long standing regular on floor 7. The staff churn they had at pandemic time hasn't yet settled into a nice service minded pattern. lot of really old old faces left and indeed have continued to leave unfortunately.
