Greet Lyon Confluence
- Name of the hotel: Greet Lyon Confluence
- What is your ALL status? Silver
- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? It was not bad but not great either.
- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? I booked a Pure large bed and receive this. Although I rejected the first room they offered me at checkin (more on this below).
- How are the rooms? Dark. Very dark. The hotel is in an old building, and the Greet concept is that rooms are not supposed to be alike (at least in this hotel). Most of them have small, very small windows and as a result the room can be very dark. The black walls and ceiling are making things worse. I rejected the first room offered because the unique window was something like 40*30 cm. I got another room with a window of 200 * 30 cm. Otherwise, they are in the modern style similar to 25 hours but more bare bone, since greet are budget hotels (well, 100 EUR a night is not budget though). The sink is at the desk (which is rather big) and there is a separate room with just toilet and shower. The bed is elevated on a platform, which is quite annoying. It is again designed by someone who has never stayed in an hotel. There are nowhere to put your hand towels for example, you have to leave them on the desk.
- What was good and what was bad?
Good:
- the bed is comfortable and they provide 3 pillows, all different (soft or hard).
- the staff is nice enough
- the breakfast is home made, there are no frozen croissant or industry jams.
- it has personality, for example the bowls at breakfast are all unique, there is a small library and you can take away a book as long as you leave one
- they had umbrellas (weather was really bad).
Bad:
- the room, see above
- the breakfast is very sweet, lots of home made cakes, very little actual carbs or protein. The items are good quality but the choice is just not good enough
- too pricey for the offering
- location is very convenient
- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge? NA
- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks? NA
- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return? I don't think so except if I am again in the same situation, which is it is the only hotel in the central area not costing an arm and leg
