This is a good news for EBS members since SkyTeam Elite is much more rewarding that *S (which is basically useless). Free bag on all fares is a big deal and we also get priority check-in, free seat selection, etc. A big upgrade as far as I'm concerned, especially as I'm having a great experience flying AFKL since I decided to boycott LHG.

I will keep crediting to Flying Blue though as it is much easier to reach gold there and the programme will likely be more rewarding for me too, since it's revenue based for AFKL tickets (which likely means I get more points than whatever measly amounts will SK credit for low booking classes).

That leaves a problem of how to handle my flights until I make it to FB Silver though. I guess I will just give up on SkyTeam (I'll be at 50 XP when SK joins anyway) but since I'm flying SK out of BCN on 1 September, priority check-in could be useful. Do you think it's safe to do OLCI with my SAS FFN (which is already attached to the reservation anyway) so I can get free seat selection and skip the queue at the airport, then once I drop bags, switch it to Flying Blue FFN? I would lose priority boarding but I couldn't really care less about that.
