Has anyone had their BB shut down due to Serve activity? What about the other way around?

In particular, I've heard that people's Serve can get shut down due to repeatedly draining the account to avoid the monthly fee. For those of you who were shut down this way, did it mess up your BB?.
This is news to me that people still have active BB or Serve cards.
