So.... I passed a UR cove so I booked Jinqiao one for 412 rmb (about 57 USD) on the last day of the promotion. I'll get 3000 points, 1000 for credit card and 2000 for staying at a urcove (I doubt I'll stay at hp or hh anytime soon). And a new badge on brand explorer.

I figured 57 USD for 6000 points and a 5 minute stop...worth it. And I got to look around.

The URcove was perfectly clean. It's like a budget Chinese hotel like a Home Inn style. They gave me the exact cheap room I booked. Zero upgrade as urcove doesn't give that to globalists. I peaked at the other rooms in the hallway and they were larger and much nicer.

Still, this one is perfectly adequate for 1-2 nights if you want something cheap. Laundry is free which is nice. .

I also like that they have tienfu tea (I asked housekeeping for extra) and Peet's coffee pods. Free parking too. Can go in and out.

Would I ever stay here? Probably not. I'd think a regular budget hotel is cheaper (and I actually really like Atour which is similar price). Atour is a great chain. I think urcove is charginf a premium because of the Hyatt name.

Like with Ritz over at Marriott, since there's no benefits I don't see the point of staying here. But to get my 6000 points it made sense.

If I ever need to do a mattress run, then this will be the place. 57 USD!!! 18 minutes from my office in Lujiazui.

Thus, good for cheap place, good for requakifying for globalist but not much else.

Still to Atour for budget. And in my one hp stay in China in Changsha, that was much better.
