This is one of the most luxurious stays in Canada. While it is reported that the property is now in compliance with elite breakfast benefit, it is just a bare minimum continental breakfast. The main highlights of the property was the complimentary house car service and wellness facilities. Here are my pros, cons:

Pros:
  • NUA was denied for a suite upgrade. Had booked a Standard King and upgraded to Signature King with a bath tub.
  • Requested 4pm check-out and was honoured without any pushback
  • Great king sized mattress, semi firm mattress, firm pillows, comfortable clean sheets, and duvet was seasonally appropriate.
  • Shower amenities are Aesop. Housekeeping was kind enough to offer complimentary Aesop body lotion and mouth wash.
  • Wellness centre includes a salt room (reservation required for 20 minute intervals), eucalyptus steam room, infrared sauna, pool, and cold plunge.
  • Great selection of water selection in the spa/gym/pool: lemon water, chlorophyll water, cucumber water, ice water. Complimentary grapefruit infused cold towel.
  • Housekeeping was detailed oriented. They provided complimentary amenities like a lavender room spray, plus toy, and cable ties. They would come around during turn down service for chocolates (only the first night) and bottled water.
  • Complimentary house car: Operated by a Lincoln SUV on a first come first serve basis. Available from 8am to 4pm during the day and 5:40pm to 9:30pm (from Sun-Thurs) and 10:30pm (Fri-Sat) in the evenings. It can be utilized for pick up or drop off anywhere within a 2KM radius. Call front desk to book. We waited an average of 3-6 minutes for pick up.
  • The BKS speakeasy is open Friday and Saturday from 5:30pm. It is only available to guests staying at the hotel. Located on the 3rd floor in a secret entrance near the fire exit. Very comfortable seating with views of the harbour. Lots of options for non-alcoholic drinks and limited food selection. Cocktails range from $17-$25 each and have an automatic 20% gratuity.

Cons:
  • Rain fall shower water pressure was not great. The wand, however, had decent water pressure. Bath tub had no issues with filling nor draining.
  • The elite breakfast is limited. Do not expect any eggs/ meat protein. It includes a choice of a plain croissant or pain au chocolat, jam, butter, berry yogurt parfait, and coffees (lattes, cappuccinos, espresso etc. /tea). There is no extra charge if you prefer to have this delivered to the room rather than at the Drift restaurant. It takes about 30 minutes for room service delivery.
  • The Chromecast TV in the room could not to be paired with any of my devices despite troubleshooting.
Overall, I would not hesitate to come back.
