AA IT is insanely sensitive to name issues. My AAdvantage account correctly has my first name, middle name, last name and the suffix Jr. all entered in separate fields, and tickets booked directly with AA issue as FIRSTNAME LASTNAME. My corporate travel agency, conversely, books and issues tickets as FIRSTNAMEMIDDLENAME LASTNAMEJR. Tickets booked both ways show up under my AAdvantage account when I log in, I get Precheck reliably for both, but for the agency-booked tickets, at the gate itself I'm reliably in Group 7 (non-AAdvantage members) and I have to request the miles retroactively. I've been dealing with this for three years since I got this job and have yet to find a resolution.
