Ugh. Yes mid July. This is what I was afraid of. I don't think I want to deal with it. Trying to keep the stress low. Just have never been and everyone raves.

Okay, so a friend of mine also suggested Matera. We will have been in Martina Franca for a week. Is Matera different enough from the towns between Bari-Martina Franca-Brindisi? We are going to do several day trips around Puglia, but probably not as far as Matera. I'd just like to have something a little different in terms of landscape, architecture, vibe. We could also just go straight to Naples.
