Whew! I am glad I'm not the only one who remembered that. During the early 70s they also used to run a contest on the flight where you had to guess the number of passengers on the plane. The prize was a free r/t ticket. I never won, but I guess the contest impressed me so much that I remember it more than 30 years later.
