Agree with this wholeheartedly. I despise the KL boxes and on one trip where I returned it the crew got me a sandwich from economy, far nicer! Even the crew carry their own cutlery because they hate the bamboo. The AF meals have varied wildly but were usually stodge for breakfast and an excess of quinoa the rest of the day. Not done many LH segments but the food was OK on the ones I did do.
That's why I made a point to not book KL on the rare occasions that I do AFKL J. AF might have their Quinoa episodes, but at least they put in some effort. The KL boxes are just sad.
Heimat... is hit and miss. Plus, I will never forgive them for ditching the apple. The apple was always there to be the redemption if the meal itself didn't stack up.
(if you happen to end up looking at M&M airlines for a trip... my personal recommendation, as far as J goes, is LX>OS>LO>LH)
