We always fly down to LHR the night before a long haul connection, it would be too stressful otherwise! So many MAN-LHR flights I've been on in the past few years have been delayed and full of distraught pax who weren't going to be getting on the flight they thought they were. I've become quite knowledgeable about advising these people about what they need to do 😂.

We were ejected from the Escape lounge at 19:45 one evening last summer while waiting for the (delayed) last flight of the day. Decided that was the last (as well as the first) time we were going to take that flight as well! Just looking at options for returning home next spring it seems that we have 0900 or 1500 and this is on a week day!
