Name of the hotel: Novotel Düsseldorf airport

- What is your ALL status? Diamond

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? Yes, nice hotel and good status handling, but they need to address the lack of airport shuttle ASAP (see below)

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive ?

I booked a Standard room and was upgraded to Junior Suite

- How are the rooms? see pictures. room was of very decent size, very comfortable and no noise.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good: hotel feels very modern and fresh (I don’t know if the hotel is recent or has been recently renovated).

Bad: : no airport shuttle which is really not acceptable knowing that the hotel is roughly 1.3 km from the terminal, so 20 min approx Hotel says you can wal or take a taxi. You can imagine the reaction of taxis for a 5 min ride when they have waited for hours to pick-up someone. Walking is completely feasible and safe (I mean no weird w alking along an expressway or something like this), but not the pleasant one and not necessarily feasible if you have luggages or if raining. The employee at front desk told me they are discussing with the 2 adjacent hotels (Ibis & Holiday Inn) to introduce a common shuttle service. This is so obvious that I don’t understand why it’s not done yet, knowing that none of those hotels seem to be brand new.

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge? no lounge

- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks :

Drink voucher was given spontaneously but I had no time to use it. Free Diamond breakfast was granted without problem. Welcome amenity was placed in room prior to arrival : the famous apple but also chocolate sweets and a pack of salted crackers. Not bad at all for a Novotel.

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Would you return?Yes, but only if they add a shuttle service to the terminal. Otherwise, better to stay at the Sheraton or the Maritim hotel.
