It's quite possible. The GA took over half an hour trying to accomplish this, and I am sure the fact that the computer said I was in DTW was a significant complicating factor. Could have been trip-in-vain, could have just deleted everything as a last resort. I normally get picked up at LEX and the extra hour to CVG is probably a bridge too far (destination is in rural KY entirely the wrong way), but given the hassle of connecting and the obscene price premium from inventory blocking I am definitely considering just driving myself from CVG (or SDF, which is also served nonstop) in the future. It grinds my gears that I have to suffer the fortress hub and I can't even get 650-mile nonstop service...

Fair enough, but mechanical delays are somewhat like weather delays in that they just happen sometimes. I don't really think it's right to be significantly more upset about them. In my anecdotal experience, and generally backed up by the OTP data, Delta is a good bit better than its competitors in terms of avoiding delays. But sometimes you get unlucky.
