What day trips from Bangkok do people recommend? I’m considering Ayutthaya if I can get specific details on getting all the way there using the train, including which train class and seat class I should take, getting from the station to the site, etc.

Only have 2 more full days in Bangkok, tomorrow and the next day.

Two places that come up and that have been mentioned here before on this forum are:

* Khao Yai National Park
* Kanchanaburi

I realize I wouldn’t be able to see everything in these places in a day, but would like to know if they’re worthwhile for day trips since I think I’ve seen everything in Bangkok that I want to.

Not interested in going to the beach / ocean—already covered that in Krabi.
