Is "Zip" still open in Caracas? Been a while now. And Tasca Don Sol? And there was a disco on the Avenida Bolivares with the parkway across the street, "Tiffany's"?

Each for a different audience - Zip is down and dirty, Don Tasca is kind of preppy, Tiffany's is just another disco, and there is also a bar at the Hotel Tamanaco which apparently attracts available young men.

EDIT: It's sad to find as one ages, one's memory short circuits, and this, I think, is what's happening to me ( ):

Dos Barras is a two-story bar just off the main pedestrian mall of Sabana Grande and is one of the hot spots for bar-hoppers in the neighborhood. (Pasaje Asuncion between Av. Abraham Lincoln and Casanova. Tel: 2-729-406)

Tiffany's Club is open every night except Sunday and features mirrored walls, a dance floor and a mixed crowd of gay men, lesbians, and straight people. The cover charge of approximately $10 includes one drink. (Av. San Juan Bosco, basement of the Cine Altamira building. Tel: 2-266-6371)

Zigzag, one of the grande dames of gay discos, is a smallish but still popular dance club open and is open every night except Monday. Cover charge varies. (Av. Libertador between Av. Las Acacias and Las Palmas. Phone unlisted)

Tasca Pullman is a small but extremely popular bar in the heart of the Sabana Grande neighborhood. On weekends, the place fills to the brim mostly with gay men, but you'll find some women here as well. Open every day from 6 p.m. until 5 a.m. (Av. Francisco Solano Lopez, first floor of Ovidio Building. Tel: 2-761-1112)

Zigzag, not Zip (close, I suppose), Tiffany's, Tasca Pullman is up the street from Dos Barras, and a lot of fun, dos Barras is a good place to start your night (though a little scary w/r/t exits and such). Tasca Don Sol is at the far end of the gay district off of Sabana Grande (I remember you can see the "Polar" beer sign on a skyscraper from the entrance) and the drag queens put on dramatic lip synch shows.
