From OMAAT:

Not much news except copy & paste from IHG's site,
Lamenting not full integration of current hotels and oppotunity lost for lucrative redemption / elite status recognition.

However eagerly awaits IHG jumping on the creditcard lucrative bandwagon as the cpm valuation might get more attractive + buy points to redeem:
"But I also really think IHG is missing out on a huge halo effect that could happen if Six Senses were actually properly integrated into the IHG One Rewards program.Maybe I’d want to stay at some InterContinental, and Kimpton, and Regent properties more, if I saw it as part of a larger strategy with IHG, based on what a great brand Six Senses is. But based on the current execution, that’s just not the case. Heck, IHG executives say the company wants to grow credit card revenue, and perhaps more aspirational redemption opportunities could encourage that kind of behavior."

Ahum,
Lucky should stick to his expertise of Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton, dedicated premium cabins & premium service inflight products, av-geekness, luxury travel advisory, US creditcards universe and Four Seasons.

IHG is a strange bird as its not about signups, handing out status & hotel perks benefits via creditcards so bloggers can sell the dream of aspirational points redemptions. Saying it as it is: IHG is a laggard in all these fields, it prefers to dip its pinky toe in, blushing when it exposes its bare ankle, giddy when exposing its terrible exciting knees and than think thrice about jumping into the icey cold ocean of addicted engagement content creating bloggers enjoying lucrative signups & redemptions on aspirational luxury properties with ego flattering top status and consistent wishes granted & fullfilling elite treatment.

OMAAT offers no retrospective insight in the unique 6s situation:
- if compared with IHG's past acquisition & integration with Kimpton
- if compared with current acquisition & integration with Regent,
- the fact IHG-1rewards is only 2 years old and we are still in the tweaking stage,
- IHG's shift from low/mid/ hotels portofolio strength to recently lifestyle (indigo/kimpton) to finally adding luxury hotel brands in the $X000 catagory.....
- structural differences in contracts if one owns a legacy 6S or if one develops a new 6s by IHG franchise: https://www.sixsenses.com/en/about-us/development/ & https://development.ihg.com/hotel-brands/six-senses
+ add a complexity touch of residences & real estate residences focus & more headaches....

(...reasons for some orginal 6S hotels to exit when their orginal contracts expire)
