I'm trying to book Westin Tokyo (65K standard night and 81,800 Standard with club access ) using the 85K FNA. The cert expires March 2025 and reservation is for one night in Jan 2025. Marriott apps said not enough points when I tried to book and when I called the Marriott reservation, they said the hotel is blocking FNA cert use.

My understanding was that you can use the cert as long as there's standard award space available and there is. Last night I opened a case and heard back this morning that they can't do anything and asked me to contact Marriott international.

Is the CSR correct that hotels can block FNA use? If hotels can randomly block FNA use, it certainly devalues these FNAs as you may or may not be able to use them regardless of award space availability.
