However, I have also seen it done for "all rooms" on C. Floor - as I have watched the housekeeper knocking on doors in consecutive order.
Finally, some housekeepers seem to have a list of which rooms to go to.
As far as the other comments re: cleanliness - these sound like valid points to me.
I agree about the concierge level, turn down service is usually the norm. But the OP was in a standard rate, non-smoking, king bed room - hence my comment. As a gold and plat I have frequently not received TD service at FS Marriott Hotels, when upgrades to the concierge level were not available. Some hotels are generally beter on that type of service than others I have found. For example, city hotels seem more consistent with providing TD service whereas suburban hotels don't. Just an observation.
